3-Hour Hiking Route at Roque Taborno in Tenerife

Vimotions offers you a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an incredible hiking route through the best landscapes of Tenerife, as one of its main objectives is to highlight the true and beautiful island of Tenerife, away from the noise of most touristic circuits.

This route is of medium difficulty and is divided into two sections that are covered in approximately 3 hours. The first one lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, with a descent of about 300 meters along the laurel forest towards the northern part of Anaga (declared a Biosphere Reserve in June 2015)

In the second section, you will get close to Roque de Taborno, you will appreciate beautiful views of the sea as you learn about the history of the region both pre-colonial and post-conquest periods. The path takes you through the crest of a mountain, so at different times you will have views of Las Carboneras and the road to Chinamada on the one hand and views of Roque Negro and Afur on the other. In addition to explaining laurisilva forest, your guide will highlight the geological and socioeconomic history of the region, the pre-Hispanic uses of this region and stories of long ago, as well as the imprint of the Guanche civilization in our days.

Afterwards, you will continue through a path that goes below Roque de Taborno with views to the coast and, at the end of the route, you will eat traditional Canarian food in a typical restaurant of the area. Anaga Experience offers a pick-up service for this excursion depending on the area where you are staying. From there, a bus will take you to the starting point, the Carlos Restaurant, on the road to Anaga.
